FICA, International Athletics Film Festival, was born in the City of Donostia San Sebastián as a cultural, sport and film event, whose purpose is to encourage an athletic culture.
FICA is not powered by commercial films. This festival is going to use projection rooms to share images, stories, documentaries, feature-length films, short films, fiction, true stories of personal growth, tough training and records. Of course, it will also share and project all high-level competitions and events we’ll be dusting off to share with fans. We want athleticism to run through the veins of fans for a few days.
“FICA is the only Worldwide Athletics Film Festival”
– Main Objective
To bring athletics to society, beyond the track, the call rooms, marathons, popular races, vaults, starting blocks and poles, to create a meeting place, for athletes, runners, trainers, filmmakers, culture, the audio-visual world, judges, doctors, managers, race organisers, disabled athletes, the IAAF, Federations, the media, clubs and television stations.
The objective is to make FICA an athletic point of reference, where everyone in the athletic family has a place.
Future objective: to raise Donostia’s worldwide visibility through athleticism. Our stars and actors will be the athletes and players in athleticism.
